Definition of effective die attach area

in cofired ceramic packages, an area in the die attach cavity that is not excluded from most of the requirements of flatness and metallization coverage. Typically, an area around the periphery of the die attach cavity (the width of which is agreed upon between customer and supplier) is excluded from these requirements and reduces the effective die attach area from the nominal cavity size.
