I am embarrassed to ask this one but I cannot recall how to change say
Protein 4.4 % W/V to percent W/W in the case the substance is raw milk and I am thinking I need the density value and the operation would be a multiplication for example 4.4 X 0.983 = 4.3
Is this correct?

if we assume no compression of the volume:
if you know the density of the milk, then take 1 L and convert it to mass. Then with the w/v% you know the mass of substance in 1 L and thus the mass% with the calculated mass of 1 L milk
