Default pipet

Firstly, I want to know the correct spelling. Is it pipet or pipette? And what are those pipets that contains the exact volume of liquid as indicated it its label? How would you know that a 10ml pipet delivers exactly 10 mL volume?

the correct answer is pipette.

Thanks walter. But I still wonder why in some books, the word pipet is used.
