Hi!
I'm planning to start a research involving ionic liquids. I don't have a proposal yet but I have some things in mind. Maybe the ionic liquid's efficiency as a catalyst in biodiesel production. Or maybe some other applications. This thread would greatly give me lots of information. Please share to me your ideas. |

What do you mean by ionic liquid? It must be more than just salt water, right?

my knowledge about ionic liquids is still elementary. They are salts in the liquid state. at least one of its ions has a delocalized charge. The other is organic. So formation of a crystal lattice is inhibited. They have very low melting points. that's why they are liquids at room temperature.
i'd appreciate it if anyone can give me some more ideas on this. i actually need some more knowledge on its applications most especially as a catalyst on biofuel synthesis from cellulose-rich, lignin-poor, plants. |
