hi everyone,
i want to ask how many isotope(s) does sodium have? i have heard that there is only 1 naturally occuring isotope for sodium and many more radio isotopes. but in fact, what is the difference between isotopes and radioisotopes? Moreover, would you plaese recommend a chemistry book for me, a student of 15? Thanks a lot for any help. |

yes there is only one stable isotope of sodium.
sodium 23. there are 14 unstable isotopes, with halflive of milliseconds to some seconds, and there is Sodium 22 with a halflive of 2,5 years. radioisotopes are isotopes which are radioactive, meaning they decay. as for the chemistrybook i cant help you. sorry |

I'm working on an isotope table for my site. It lists the stable isotopes for Z=1 - Z=60. Link is here:http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?page=isotopes
