Bunsen burner

I am studying chemistry and working for a film studio. I'd like to burn some compounds to show their color effects. My camp stove is not convenient for this and I'd like to have a burner anyhow that will use propane.

There are different models so I'm wondering how to decide on what to get. Also where to get it.

Also I'd appreciate any suggestions on what compounds would make a colorful display. We work with light and color a lot.

Here are a few...
lithium chloride - gives off a bright red flame
copper (ll) chloride - gives off a green/blue flame
nickel (ll) chloride - gives off a intense white flame
sodium chloride - gives off a yellow/orange flame

I think that you should use any sodium, potassium, barium, and lithium compunds. It doesn't matter what compounds you use because the metal will overpower the other part of the compund.

I wouldn't use potassium. Potassium gives off a purple color, but the color is usually too weak to see well.

I would use a compound diluted in water and do the flame testing using a metal rod to stick into the flame, that is obviously dipped into the compound.
