Default Carbonated drinks

Carbonated drinks often fizz when opened. Does carbonated drinks add carbon in the atmosphere? Does it also contribute to global warming?

One can of a fizzy drink has about 2 grams of carbon dioxide. You drink this and then your release the gas one way... or the other.

Burning a gallon of gasoline releases about 9000 grams of carbon dioxide, so I don't think fizzy drinks are contributing much to global warming compared with fossil fuels.
