Nitric Acid storage

I have a liter of nitric acid in 2 half-liter bottles. I need to store it for an extended period of time (probably about a year) and I'm just wondering what sort of safety precautions I should take.

Currently the bottles are in a mini-fridge (there are no other chemicals stored in that mini-fridge. The bottles are about 95% full, so there's not a great deal of air in there with it.) I've read the MSDS for storage and handling. I'm just wondering if there's anything else I ought to know.

The two bottles are wrapped in bubble wrap and are in a polypropylene container, though I'm probably going to move them to a stainless steel container since I'm pretty sure pp won't contain the acid in the event the bottles explode.

Here's what I really want to know: Is there any chance of gas build-up over time in the containers? Should they be regularly vented to release gas? If so, how often...

I've just haven't had to store nitric acid before and because it's not the safest stuff in the world, I just want to make sure there aren't any avoidable problems.

You may have thought of this already but ensure the containers are very clearly labled in the conventional manner. It may be wise to label the fridge as well to ensure that no mistakes can be made over the contents.
Similarly you will want to make sure there is a way of notifying emergency services about its presence in case of fire.
