Can anyone give me any ideas for what titrations are used for in real life, aside from measuring the pH of acid rain? Any suggestion, however ridiculous, is appreciated!

I doubt anybody will check pH of acid rain using titration - pH meter will be much better.
A friend of mine routinely checks concentration of active compounds in the bath used for preparation of surface of iron elements before they are painted. I don't know further details, but I know he uses some titrimetric method. Best, Borek |

besides what borek had said, mostly titrations are applied in industrial lab work. They check for the concentration of a solution, or the purity of a solution...
Well, that's all I can think of. |
