Question Remove scent from clove oil?

Hi guys,
I need to know a way to remove or at least decrease the scent of clove oil.
I asked on yahoo answers and was told that maybe an acid-base reaction could help. I figured out that it is a base, but won't performing that reaction change its real properties?

I am not a chemistry person, so please excuse me if I am not questioning properly.

Its urgent guys, can anyone refer to something or generate an idea?

Thanks

if you want to remove or lessen the scent of the clove oil, you will have to remove or reduce the amount of clove oil you are using. the scent that clove oil has comes from Eugenol which is the main component of clove oil, comprising 70-90% of it.
i'm not sure if an acid -base reaction will affect the composition of eugenol in clove oil though.
