It's the volume of one mole of the substance as you said. Atomic volume is how much space a single atom takes up. Molar and atomic volumes are different because we're talking different amounts of the material. Molar volume takes into account how closely the atoms are packed and the spaces between them while atomic volume is only for a single atom.
