Please help me name atomic compounds !!!

I need help remembering/understanding the rules for naming ionic and covalent compounds ASAP....
eg: if i have molecular formula P4O6 how do i get the compound name, name of cation and anion.....
any help would be appreciated because my school textbook is like 24 years old and dosnt speak regular english...

example: Fe2O2 would be----- Iron(II) Oxide ------ but this is only with transition metals and nonmetals... I dont remember the rules for other combos of elements like metal nonmetal, nonmetal-nonmetal, etc

Take a look at this site:

Cations have the same name as the neutral atom unless they have variable charge (like iron). Anions add -ide to the end.
