Spectra databases of organic coumpounds and chemicals.

Hello,
We are studying chemicals from conifers for rural incomes. We cannot locate literature on water soluable organic acids and extraction.

Is it possible to identify the chemicals in spectra DB's (conifer needles) ? Dennis.

What analytical method are you using?

RobJim :
Perhaps I asked the wrong question. We wish to learn what can be extracted from conifer needles on--site in environmental sensitive areas (remote clearcut logging). Literature is scarce for public access.

Shikimic acid appears to have properties suitable for our simple exxtraction concept. Can spectra of plants identiify this chemical and other water solubles? Does a spectra graph indicate the quantity in the sample?

We can't find reports on the content in conifers, for the species we have access to. We need a method to determine content.

"What analytical method" leaves me stumped, can you input further on how to do this?
