Prep. of tetratiodotin and its triphenylphosphine complex...
In the Andrews titration used to determine I- is the potassium iodate acting as a reducing or oxidising agent?
Also, what are the isomeric forms of (Ph3P)2SnI4.... Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.. |
potassium iodate has to be an oxidising agent.
for the isomers, draw out an octahedral arangement (six ligands attached to a central ion) with the six ligands and you will see that the two triphenylphosphine ligands can either be next to each other or opposite each other. |
will that complex have a charge on it?
|
depends whether it's Sn(II) - yes, or Sn(IV) - no
|
K thanx!
