If given the periodic table and all the data, the atomic mass can be located usually at the top left of the symbol for the element. The number of the bottom left is the atomic number. The periodic table contains legends on how and where the properties of atoms can be found. When dealing with the number of subatomic particles (proton, electron, neutron), the mass number (atomic mass rounded off) is the number of protons and the number of neutrons combined together.
