lightest to heaviest elements
 

Hello. Could someone please help me figure out which of these elements goes from lighest to heaviest? Ca H Cr C O Pb Xe Ne B Li Ga

Hi Lauren,

You need to look up the densities of these elements. The lowest density will be the 'lightest' and the highest denstity will be the 'heaviest'.

Go the the homepage of this website http://www.chemicool.com/ then click on the symbol for each element you're interested in. The densities are shown in the general section near the top of each page.

i think all you need to look at is their atomic masses. The one with the largest atomic mass is the heaviest. Density is different from "how heavy" a material is. Solid ice is heavier than an equal amount of liquid water but is is denser. One kilo of cotton is as heavy as 1 kilo of iron nails but the kilo of iron nail is denser.
