Alg

I am typing up a list of mineral compositions for my boss and in one of the compositions for Stilbite, it includes Alg......what does the subscripted g stand for???

the chemical formula for the mineral in question is NaCa2Al5Si13O36·14H2O i think you have mistaken the AL5 for Alg.

Hi there, thank you for your response. Here is the actual formula I was given by my boss and he is quite the mineral collector....he assured me that it was Alg and I asked him what the 'g' stood for and he said some value, but wasn't sure....here is the formula I have and it is for a Scolectite and Stillbite mineral from Nasik, India. CaAl2Si3O10 ∙ 3H20
NaCa4 (Si27 Alg) O72 ∙ 30H20 Please let me know what you think.

Thx.

It is not letter g, it is digit 9.
