Wittig

I want to do a Wittig between MePPh3 and an aldehyde that is on the side chain of an amino acid. Any suggestions on what base I could use that would not result in racemization of my amino acid.

I think you can use double stoichiometric potassium carbonate for this transformation and surely it will not racemize your aminoacid functionality.
