interesting facts about iodine?

can someone please help me? I need some intersesting facts about iodine and i need it fast. thank you. :)

It is purple in its gas and solid state.

Iodine is a bluish-black, lustrous solid. It volatilises at ambient temperatures into a pretty blue-violet gas with an irritating odour.
