synthetic gum base

Hi, I'm in 11th grade, and even though I don't have to do a science project, I am...thats why I'm here. I need to know if anyone knows how to make a synthetic gum base. I know it can be done! I just need the chemcal compounds, so I can get them approved by some committees.

:?

this might make a difference, I need the gumbase to be easily acceptable to colorings and flavors, which i have already found formulas for

Sounds pretty interesting... as for the gum base, do you need something like guar gum? It's pretty cool stuff, though I haven't really played around with it. You can get in powder form.
